How To Pick The Right Escape Room

Escape rooms challenge you. That’s their job. Discover how to select the right room for you and your group.

The Best Way To Choose An Escape Room

Why Keystone Escape Rooms?

Many of the escape rooms around Atlanta are not facilitated like they are here at Keystone Escape Games. We have closed-circuit monitors in each room where we monitor your group’s progress. When you hit a wall and need some help, we offer three keys or clues to help your group move forward.

How Many Players In Your Escape Room?

The first thing to consider when picking your escape room is how many people are you bringing with you to the escape game. If it’s just you and one other person- your girlfriend, your wife, your wife and your girlfriend (we’re not judging!), you’ll want to factor this in.

Here’s why- with only two people playing, some escape games are practically impossible. There’s just too many clues and too many distractions for two people to tackle, and if you don’t have enough people, it’s kind of a set up for failure- no matter how many clues you get. So, unless you’re into that kind of thing (failure, self-abuse, etc.), then you probably want to ask the game masters which escape rooms are better for a small number of players.

Keep in mind, if you only have a couple of people to bring with you, that’s fine. We’ll simply add your group to another small group to make it more fun for everybody. You’ll get a chance to make new friends and see how you do when you’re all put into a pressure situation to escape the room. We say, “Bring it!”

Now, if you have a larger group (say 6 or more), then the size of the escape room doesn’t matter

Facilitated Or Non-Facilitated Escape Games?

One thing to think about is how hard do you want your escape room experience to be? When it comes to escape rooms in Atlanta, there are some franchises that put you and your group is nothing more than a conference room with a few props, tell you theme and toss various puzzles at you. If you get stuck, you stay stuck until time runs out. That is the definition of a non-facilitated escape game.

While a facilitated escape game has a game master watching your group on closed-circuit TV the entire time. When you run into trouble, (notice that we didn’t say “if” you run into trouble. Moo haha!), the game master will offer a hint to facilitate the game along. This allows the group to determine how hard they want the escape game to be. Plus, it tends to make things more enjoyable when you know you have some help from above.

Decorated Escape Rooms Vs Not So Much

As we said, some escape rooms are as well-decorated as a rental storage shed. You can see how they cut a few (like “ALL”) corners in decorating the place. Other escape rooms are like stepping back in time when you walk in. The best escape rooms work hard to immerse you in the experience as part of the thrill of the experience. It’s important to ask about decorations when you book your escape game.

People are coming from all around Atlanta to play our escape games. We’ve had players from Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Roswell, Duluth, Lilburn and some come from as far as Gainesville and Athens! Book your next escape game online or call us today!

Why Keystone Escape Rooms?

Escape rooms are becoming one of the most popular things to do in Atlanta, but there are significant differences between them. Some escape rooms are nothing more than a conference room where the theme of the game is announced and you’re given puzzles to solve. If your team gets stuck, you stay stuck until time runs out. When you ask for clues, you’re told, “Come back and try it next time”.

At Keystone Escape Rooms, the game masters or as we call them, the “Clues Crew” monitors all our escape room experiences. If your team gets stuck, we’ll give you up to three clues (or keys) to help you move along. If you want the hardest escape room possible, then don’t accept any help (and we wish you the best!).

People are coming from all over Atlanta to test their wits on our escape rooms. Book your escape games online today. Most groups laugh a lot, struggle (a lot) and have a great time. One thing is certain, you’ll have a lot to talk about after working so hard to escape the room.

Escape Rooms Are The #1 Team Building Activity In Atlanta

It doesn’t matter what type of team you have- sports team, scout troop, sales team, C-suite, church groups, etc, escape games challenge you in a way that few other team building activities do. They force you to work together in a fun, safe way. In fact, all of the characteristics that you need to be successful at work are necessary to escape the room. Here’s a quick list:

  • Leadership skills
  • Communication
  • Situational awareness
  • Deductive reasoning
  • Problem-solving
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Logical thinking
  • Abstract thinking
  • Ability to follow as well as lead

At Keystone Escape Rooms, we have a conference room where your team can come, have lunch and talk about the experience you had in the escape room to solidify the “coachable moments” for your team. The skills are directly transferable to the workplace and frankly, escape games are the type of team building activities that HR Directors love. No one goes to the ER. No one calls in sick the next day. It’s a safe and effective way to bring your team together. In fact, many of the teams that come play our escape rooms tell us that we have the best team building activities in Atlanta

If you’re up for a challenge and a fantastic way to spend time with people you like, then you’re ready for our escape rooms. Come try ours first, so you have something to measure the other escape games by. People tell us they talk about the experience for weeks afterward.

Keystone Escape Rooms has Atlanta’s Favorite Escape Rooms. We have 2 escape rooms currently with plans to have up to five escape games. Book your next escape room adventure today!
